Way to go, Eric!!!!
Jan's active submissions:
STALKING YOLANDA (revised),
How to Get a Life
Congrats, Eric! That's wonderful! You're an inspiration to us all.
Selfishly speaking, I signed up for your manuscript pool so I hope you take the offer. I'm dying to read the rest.

Cloister's active submissions:
The Fallen
I would have but it was full! I hope everything comes together soon, I can't wait to see what happens though. Congratulations!
Congrats Eric. Your story is what made me join this site, really. Which is why I came back and would like to stick around and see what happens. Then there is Cloister and Jan. Reading their posts is like being back in Grad school and receiving feedback for your work that strikes a chord in you.
Then, what has been happening over the past two weeks on this site since I joined is somewhat exciting. I see credibility that wasn't apparent at first (not to mention the sting of newbyitis.) Mainly because of probably system bugs, and for myself, story bugs. Then I realized that this type of feedback is exactly what I needed. Even those who don't understand specific genre, can participate. We all want perfect stories right out of the editing gate, and yes, I have been editing for ever.
Not that it matters, I am well published, educated, and teach writing too. When it comes to your own work, and attempting to bridge literary areas that you've never tried is another well addressed cliche - for me - and I have to write the story that I've posted. As long as you guys feed your response, i'll stay a little while longer. Kudos, again.

I hope you stick around! Your impressions of this site, and your recognition that it's the other people here like Cloister and Jan, almost more than the writing, that makes the site valuable. I'm delighted to hear you express that, because it's exactly what we're trying to create here: a place where readers benefit because they get to pick what gets published, and where writers benefit because they get honest and constructive critiques.
Regardless of whether they get enough points to get published, writers are doing everyone a favor here by posting their work. I'm glad we have a way to give them something useful back no matter what.
Also, your story is pretty interesting and I hope it finds an audience!

Jan, I am on the same wavelength as you. I just need to figure out the logistics: Can the kids all create their own accounts here? Do I allow them free reign regarding selection? Trust me, I'll get it together and get them on here. I have some astute students in my literature class, who speak the literary language. Their insights could be compelling. Thanks to all who read and reviewed. I got the offer this morning. I have questions about e-books versus hard copy that I am awaiting answers to. Other than that, I'm happy.
