Hi everyone, This book, THE LITTLE GOOD OLD BOY was originally entitled THE GOOD OLD BOY, but then I realized the name was too close to one already submitted--THE GOOD BOY, so I changed the title so the two wouldn't be so easily confused.

I also revised things Cloister had pointed out to me, which turned out to be easy fixes, because I'd only committed the cardinal sin of infodumps in the first couple chapters--my misguided attempt to establish the background.

ALSO, I'm hoping adults won't pass it over because it's a children's/YA novel. At the risk of sounding presumptuous and inflated by making comparisons to Rowling's marvelous series, (because certainly I don't mean to imply in any way that my novel is in that league,)I hope, that like the Harry Potter books, adults will also find it entertaining. Also, if you have children, nieces, nephews, I'd be grateful to learn their reviews.

Jan, often adult writers totally misunderstand children's fiction. Of course there are many similarities between the two, but I think they can forget the intended audience. Having said that, I never saw the original excerpt and I agree that info dumps are not only too common, they have no place in either adult or children's books (I'd hesitate to say ESPECIALLY in children's books. Kids have a very limited attention span and the last thing they want is a history lesson (even if it's in a future world. LOL)

I read children's fiction and YA almost exclusively (most books for adults can't hold my limited attention span in my time poor life). I think The Little Good Old Boy was comparible to what I've read in those fields (in fact it's better than one or two of the things I've read).

Anyway, good luck with everything.
