Summary

The socioeconomic struggle of modern life sets the city of Detroit ablaze with the fires of revolution in the novel, How a City Burns, a literary thriller that challenges the social construction of today’s society.

A messianic orator named Mosiah inspires a youth revolution against capitalist ideology and the educational system which has “failed.” A jaded public teacher named Rick Baum sacrifices a life of normalcy to fight for the souls of his students against Mosiah’s twisted vision. Rick is guided to Mosiah by a cadre of doomed terrorists, and in the wake of his obsession the body count rises –– the revolution has become the tool of a grand conspiracy, with the future of the youths that Rick has sworn to protect in the balance, and Mosiah’s life in his hands.
