Summary
Almost nine year old Jamie is given a strange gift on Christmas Eve: a small wooden statue of an old, fat, balding angel with tattered wings. But the angel comes to life at her bedside and transports her on a magical adventure, back in time to the first Christmas Eve in Bethlehem. Jamie meets one of the magi along the way, and a few skeptical shepherd boys as well. At the Nativity, Jamie gives a shivering brand new mother her most precious possession; her ever-present sky-blue baby blanket. (And that’s how the Mary came to wear a blue robe.)
